Beyond nature - Integrating people into decision-making
25 March 2025 | 14:00 - 15:30 |
Businesses face unprecedented pressure to address risks impacting nature and biodiversity but also face pressures relating to social equity, human wellbeing and financial sustainability. As efforts to measure, understand and value the impacts and dependencies on people become more established, there is a growing recognition that the inclusion of stakeholders with diverse perspectives is necessary to improve the understanding of the range of values people have for nature.
This session will discuss the initial findings from ongoing research with impact valuation practitioners. There will be reflections from key experts on the importance of acknowledging and incorporating diverse perspectives of value into decision-making, and further exploration of approaches to embed diverse perspectives into transformative decision-making that achieve more sustainable and equitable outcomes for society in the long term.
