Action Streams Day Two
Finance & business dialogues – Creating an enabling environment for private sector action on biodiversity
26 March 2025 | 10:00 - 12:00 |
Hosted by: UNEP-WCMC, WWF and Green Finance Institute
To move the needle on nature loss, action from the private sector needs to be supported by a stable and conducive enabling environment set by national governments. In this session we will discuss how national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) which are being updated in line the Global Biodiversity Framework, can be used at the country level to develop policies and regulations that encourage private sector action. We will then move into discussing tangible examples of developing a strong enabling environment: sector transition plans that WWF and GFI are developing in the UK, and examples of voluntary and compliance nature markets from across the world.
