Action Streams Day One
Accelerating nature finance and investing in natural capital
25 March 2025 | 16:00 - 17:30 |
Hosted by: Cambridge Institute for
Sustainability Leadership and UNEP-WCMC
Private finance flows that have a direct negative impact on nature are US$5 trillion, which is 140 times larger than private investments into private nature-positive initiatives (State of Finance for Nature 2023, UNEP). To scale nature finance effectively, we must rethink how to integrate nature into the core of financial strategies. This session will explore actionable ways to embed nature into key areas such as stakeholder engagement, financing terms, and risk management—with a strong focus on data-driven solutions.
We will delve into the concept of nature information pathways for financial institutions and showcase real-world examples of how nature-related data can be integrated into decision-making processes. These insights will help redirect financial flows away from harmful activities.
